This online course module is on developing a strategic prevention plan. In previous course modules, you were introduced to the field of substance abuse prevention and learned about many of the theories and research findings that have influenced the practice of prevention. You also learned about conducting a community readiness and needs assessment which is the first step in a systematic approach to addressing substance abuse problems in a community. In this short module, we focus on the process of developing a strategic prevention plan based on a community readiness and needs assessment. As with module 4, this module relates directly to job tasks in the Planning and Evaluation job domain in the IC&RC job analysis.
